New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2012 came to a close last night and there were many standout and buzzed about collections to anticipate for next season. Crochet and floor grazing maxi skits from Band of Outsiders, Bill Blass’ naval jackets, Marc by Marc Jacobs’ bright neon suits, threeASFOUR’s Islamic printed bathing suits, to Robert Geller’s floppy-styled fedoras (lots of chapeaux seen on the runway); like a box of assorted chocolates Spring/Summer 2012 was a smorgasbord of trends. Zara: Dear America
A day before New York Fashion Week, Zara launched their American e-commerce website. To help celebrate this long over due avenue was Dear America, a 50 print photo collection of all 50 states curated by the Spanish retailer. Evocative photos like a snowy covered New York by Michelle Arcila to an aerial view of Alaska by Nich Hance McElroy (which we’re sure if you stare far and long you might just see Russia) to a Hawaiian treehouse by Stephen Tamiesie.
